A friend sent me an invite to pinterest.com and let me tell you...I'm so glad she did. I have found so many cool ideas for everything from fashion, to home decor, to books to read, and food I need to eat/make. If you want to have your own you have to be invited, but if you aren't you can still browse and get wonderful ideas. Let me know if you want and invite and you can check out my interests.
Family Matters
On my recent trip to California for my cousin Matt's wedding we took some family photos. I'm not a huge fan of my pictures but everyone else looks great. I had such a great time. I only wish we had been able to stay longer.
What I've been up to
Apart from what I mentioned in my last post we really haven't been up to much lately. I read a new book, finished watching True Blood on Netflix and HBO2GO so I am totally caught up. And football season has started so Branden couldn't be happier.
The new book I read recently was The Help by Kathryn Stockett and I LOVED it! I really want to see the movie as well, but I'm afraid it won't be as good as the book. The story completely drew me in from the beginning. The story is told from the perspective of 3 characters which allows for the reader to understand what is going on really well. Some parts were very funny while others were heart wrenching. Plus I love reading things that are written in an accent. It seems so much more believable that way.
The main thing that I've been up to is couponing. I've got a stockpile going now and I'm totally obsessed. My favorite thing is finding free stuff! I've recently gotten 20 free Old Spice Deodorants, 6 free Nivea Body washes, free toothpaste, and probably some other things that I just can't think of right now. I only wish I had more time to look through the ads and blogs. Luckily I have Branden's sister Nohea to help me.
Here is a picture of about half of about half of my stockpile. There is more under the bathrrom sick, kitchen sink, and lots of laundry needs above the washer and dryer.

Sorry It's Been So Long.....
Well......I haven't really posted anything in a while. Not too much has happened, but lets recap.
In May, my brother Rob and my dad Kevin came to visit us in Phoenix. We had a very nice visit and Britt was excited to get her car.
In July, Hailey came to visit for a week and we got new feathers in our hair! Woohoo! I also started couponing in July and am totally addicted now!
Last weekend Britt and I had our first sisters only road trip to California. We drove to Victorville and met up with dad and Uncle Mike then drove north to Hollister for our cousin Matt's wedding reception. Everything was beautiful. It was so nice to see our grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. And meet Matt's new wife Sarah.
I'll be sure to post more soon (maybe tonight). Anyone interested in couponing?

I love this Quote!
I was emailed this quote by my campus president as part of his quote of the day and I loved it!
"The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to elan on, rely on, or blame. The gift of life is yours; it is an amazing journey; and you alone are responsible for the quality of it."

ENJOY!

It's been over a month since my last post so let's recap:
HAWAII
Branden and I went to Hawaii for two weeks and got back on Mother's Day night. I can't wait for my Hawaiian bracelet to come in the mail! I ordered a custom sterling silver bangle bracelet! Usually they are gold, but I don't like the way yellow gold makes my skin look. We had such a great time visiting Branden's family. And we were able to really relax! I took a nap everyday and ate ice cream almost everyday. Unfortunately I'm horrible at remembering to take pics so we only have a few and they are all just of people. No sunsets or scenery. Sorry.
MOVIES/TV
Before we left all we id was work. Nothing too spectacular. And no new movies. HOWEVER, I am SUPER excited to watch the new Pirates movie! This looks amazing! I can't wait to see the mermaids. I also want to see The Hangover 2. The first one was hilarious so the second better not disappoint. Others are Fast Five, Bridesmaids, Soul Surfer, and Thor. I still haven't seen Red Riding Hood. I heard it was disappointing. I'll just have to wait an Netflix it.
While I haven't been tot he movies in a while, I have been watching TV and let me tell you Vampire Diaries is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't watch this show, you should. And if you watch the show and haven't read the books, you need to. I prefer the first two books compared to the last two, but they are still awesome! And GLEE, where do I even start!? I love musicals and I love the fact that there is musical TV series!

Life Recap
First off I want to apologize for not writing anything in a while. I got a message from my grandpa this week saying that he missed my posts. I didn't know if anyone even read my blog. LOL.
Oh life! Where to begin? Well we recently went to the Arizona Renaissance Festival and the AZ Aloha Festival. Both were fun. We also go to the movies all the time, clearly by my last few posts. And we are preparing for our trip to Hawaii. We leave on the 24th! I'm so excited! We will be gone for 2 whole weeks! We celebrated my birthday, I'm 24 now! Weird! This coming Sunday, the 10th is mine and Branden's 3rd Anniversary! That's super crazy too! And then on the 13th it's Branden's 24th birthday!
I think I should be finished with my Bachelor's degree by the end of the year. FINALLY! I'm so ready to be done. I want to work on my Master's Degree as well, but to finally be finished with my undergrad will be such a relief. Wish me luck on my last few classes.

Funny Aliens
I saw Paul this weekend and I think its one of the funniest movies in a long time. Seth Rogan was hilarious as the voice the alien Paul. He says a bunch of very quotable lines.I love all of these movies about nerds lately. You need to see this!
Better Than I Expected
Two More movies that I've seen recently that were MUCH better than expected were No Strings Attached and Just Go With It. While I don't personally agree with the basic premises of either movie they were both pretty funny. Good acting, perfect timing on the comedy, and happy endings.
Oh and I watched Take Me Home Tonight again because I liked it so much!

Everyone Loves A Good Chick Flick
I really enjoyed Beastly. A great modern take on the story of Beauty and the Beast, even my husband liked it. Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfer were the perfect fit. This movie has a great message for such a materialistic world that we are living in too. Neil Patrick Harris was hilarious as usual which is the part the Branden liked the best.

Super Powers
I wish I had some sort of super power. Doesn't everyone? Well in I Am Number Four aliens from another planet have plenty of cool super powers. If you don't like sci-fi you probably won't like this. But there are some great action scenes and some really cool special effects. I would give this film 4 stars. I relaly liked it.

(I forgot to write about this movie after I saw it about a week-ish ago, so my memory is not too fresh...sorry)I'm looking forward to seeing Red Riding Hood and Beastly.
My Spaz of a Cat Callie
My cat's name is Callie. She is fat, but we love her. We adopted her about a year ago and she is such a spaz! I was trying to video her in the act, but I failed miserably so all you get are pictures. She runs/jumps around like a crazy kitty and always seems to find herself in some sort of mischief.
Her favorite toy is this little pink stuffed mouse that she has managed to rip to shreds. Maybe she'll get a new one for her b-day in May. When she's not playing with this little mouse she is trying to find new places to explore, the closet, the back patio, the shower, or my personal favorite, the dryer. One day I had left the dryer door open and went to put some clothes in it and start it up. I walked away for about 30 seconds and came back to the dryer because it sounded like there was shoes or rocks in the dryer. When I opened the door to see what it was the cat jumped out and ran and hid under the kitchen table. The poor thing was so scared and hasn't gone near the dryer since.
But at the end of the day she is so cute and sleeps on top of the couch by me or snuggles with me and Branden in our bed.

I ♥ the 80's
It's no secret that I love everything 80's. And tonight I saw an awesome movie based in the 80's! Take Me Home Tonight is probably one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. The music was great, the costumes were perfect, and the comedy was on point. They had the perfect actors/actresses for the roles too. I haven't liked Topher Grace in anything since That 70's Show, until now. (Maybe he should stick with period pieces?) I definitely recommend this movie to anyone who loves/likes the 80's, has seen the movie Sixteen Candles, or just likes to laugh.
I give it four stars!

Asian Dinner
I'm not a very good or imaginative cook. I like cooking, but I have a hard time thinking of new ideas. Tonight Branden asked me if I knew how to make fried rice and I laughed. But the more I thought about it the better fried rice sounded. So what did I do? i turned to my trusty friend Google and found a recipe that I really liked. Clicker HERE for recipe. I over cooked the rice some but it was still delicious! I forgot to take a picture for the blog, but next time I'll remember.
Stay tuned for pictures from this weekend's Aloha Festival!

First TIme
I've been wanting to start a blog for a while and now I have one! I'm not too sure what I'll talk about or who will actually want to follow my blog, but that's okay.My name is Mikaela, I'm married with no children, and in about 3 weeks I'll be 24. I work full time and go school part time. I'm hoping to graduate with my bachelor's degree within the next 12 months or less! I love my family and friends. But most of all my loving husband, Branden. He puts up with me and all my craziness. I love movies and watch them all the time. I enjoy many TV shows so I have to record them all just so that I can watch them. (Maybe I'll do some movie/TV reviews on here?) I have a shoe/purse/clothes/make-up addiction that drives my hubby crazy I'm sure. I don't really exercise, but should. Anyone know of any work-outs that can trick me into thinking I'm NOT working out (LOL). I'll put some pictures up soon enough and try to post as often as I can. Please feel free to give me suggestions, comments, or whatever at anytime.
